Clay-colored leaf beetle (Anomoea laticlavia)

Burnt Lands

Photographed in the Burnt Lands provincial park near Almonte. There were dozens of these rather large (8mm or so) handsome and brightly coloured leaf beetles on several willow shrubs. These belong to the Chrysomelidae family, the leaf-eating beetles, which as a group are very beautifully patterned and coloured.
