Flower scarab beetle (Trichiotinus affinis) on ox-eye daisy

This beetle was also found at Beechwood cemetery, in the naturalized area adjacent to a wooded gully. That location was rich in weedy vegetation beloved by butterflies and other insects, and thus also dragonflies feeding on the other insects!

These small beetles are bee mimics. They are also important pollinators as you can see by the amount of pollen that is stuck to this one's body.
