Opened Oak rough bullet galls showing wasp cocoon

These are two separate "Oak rough bullet galls" made by a Disholcaspis quercusmamma wasp in the Cynipidae family. One has a fully intact cynipid wasp cocoon (L), the other, has a cocoon that has been chewed open and is empty. The cocoons are very hard and are perfectly formed ovals.
