Buckthorn fruit

The fruit of this invasive shrub feeds a lot of birds. At the moment, small flocks of Bohemian Waxwings are eating this fruit in Rockcliffe Park. Robins, Cedar Waxwings, Starlings, Crows, etc. will all eat this fruit when there is not much else around. It is not their first choice, but it will suffice when all else fails.

Nice capture. Since the birds eat it, it's also how it gets spread :-(

Nice shot - especially with the snow/ice on the berries! V
