Golden apples of the sun

These golden apples stored by red squirrels on branches of spruce trees, always make me think of Yeat's poem "The Song of the Wandering Aengus".

Incredible! Imagine a squirrel moving something as big as an apple into a tree!

Lovely poem, lovely shot.
It would be a puzzler to anyone but you
to see an apple in a spruce tree.

Super shot and find Christine. An other of nature's marvels, that apple probably weighs as much as the squirrel that put it there.

LOL, a great shot of this squirrel's winter store! Nicely shot, the light on the apple is beautifully caught...I like your association with the poem too!
