Paper wasp (Polistes dominula) on willow

This is an introduced species which has become fairly common. Around the Fletcher Wildlife Garden, we find them nesting in holes in metal posts as well as attaching their small paper nests under eaves. They rarely bother people.

Amazing detail and clarity, and always handheld, wish I could do that!! A beautifully composed capture. V
