15-JUL-2007

We followed several quad bikes on the highway.
From the amount of dirt on them they must have
been out tearing up some part of the countryside.

This is really at it's best viewed in original.
I was rather pleased on how it turned out as it
was shot through the windscreen with the handheld 75-300mm
as we drove. All I have done is resize & sharpen with Irfanview.

Still trying to catch up with comments...

I suppose that thing is fun for someone. Does all the mud mean the ground is soft due to rain?

These quads are a real disaster. Hopefully that won't last, as it burns an awful quantity of gas (do I have new friends, now??).
You managed the light and the motion very well for sure!

You amaze me with your drive-through shots & this is no exception!

Superb shot given the circumstances. You need drive faster - you're obviously not getting enough dead bugs on your windscreen!!!

Thought from the thumb that you had gone to Iraq, looking down the barrel of a cannon (not your Canon)! VOTE!

Interesting subject. :) It took me quite sometime to figure what it was until I read your caption. :) Nice capture Laine. The timing of light you've captured is great. Gmv.

I'm with Dave - can't these guys take up flower-arranging instead? ;->
royalld16-Jul-2007 18:34
That is a nice shot. Great light.
(royalld editorial: I think recreational off-road riders should have to plant a tree for every gallon/liter of fuel they burn while tearing up the countryside.)
