While I plan on maintaining a presence here, I am in the process of moving my galleries to Flickr. Yes, I hate the presentation there. And it is a steep learning curve to even navigate the site. The porn here is just a deal breaker for me. I feel by having my galleries here, I am implicity saying I approve of it. Management is totally unresponsive. I don't know if they can't or just won't do anything to put a filter in place. There are always empty promises to communicate but it never happens. And the filter isn't the only feature that is a big fail on this site. How about private photos that end up being visible to everyone. That's been broken since this site's inception and every so often someone asks about it. It never gets fixed either. I prefer Pbase to Flickr in so many ways but I also like not having to see what I don't want to see and having features that actually work as they're supposed to. And if you have an issue there and post on the forum, their management team responds along with many other users to answer your question or help you out. The customer service is very good.

So yes, Pbase is the backwards nephew of internet photo sites and it used to fun and charming and I could put up with that. But the pervs are taking over without any resistance from anyone in charge. I can't stand seeing those disgustingly graphic photos. And I have to click on the Popular Galleries link to get to the much more representative Popular Photos page.

I do value my friends here so I'll keep a PAD gallery going. But I am stating here emphatically and loudly that I do not approve of this new trend of porn galleries which in some cases feature minors or what appear to minors. That can't be legal. So in a way, it is also prudent ot have my photos somewhere else because it may be Pbase will be shut down anyway.
