Morning Light through the Window

West Virginia

Mamiya RB67 with Polaback. Fujifilm FP 3000B.

Submitted for the challenge entry, "A stuffed doll/animal that you own."

I don't own any stuffed dolls or animals. Not even a doll that's not stuffed. I was a tomboy growing up and I didn't have any as child either except the cheapo knock off Barbie my mother gave me for Xmas hoping I suppose that I'd stop climbing trees and fighting with boys and play with it. I decapitated it at some point.

Anyway, I do have a lot of soft worn blankets for cuddling with real animals and for them to keep warm during the winter months.

This was shot before daybreak just as the sun was lighting the window using a two second shutter speed. I put the camera on the coffee table because I am too lazy to set up a tripod and since it weighs 10 pounds it didn't move. :)

Other worlds can be seen here.

Great image and today I would take warm blankets and a couple of warm animals as it was 25F outside when I got up. Brrr... Love the lighting. V

Lovely natural light coming through the window to illuminate the cozy blankets. At least you were not lazy enough not to get out of bed to take the shot, like someone I know. V

Awesome back story - my daughter loves her dolls, but also hangs out with the boys and climbs trees and stuff. Great back story to go with this photograph. Worn blankets are a wonderful wonderful thing. Voted.

I was the same way...have never cared for barbies either.

Karen, I don't know which is better -- the images you post or the dialog you attach with them! This one just cracks me up! You have both great artistic talent and a wonderful sense of humor. Thanks for sharing it all with us!

I'd rather have a soft blanket than a soft toy any day :-)
and soft light like this, coming through my window.

Super composition with lovely soft light falling on the blankets and lampshade. Cuddling with the animals sounds like a great plan! V
