Antonia graciously agreed to help in this attempt to depict three women, each named Mary, who figure prominently (though in vastly different proportions) in Christian history, spirituality, and devotion.

This first is Mary of Bethany -- sister of Lazarus and Martha, who surprised her siblings by anointing Jesus with costly oil when he visited their household.

I've tried to edit these "Marys" by imparting a bit of "holy glow" (via Gaussian blur to feathered selection in Photoshop).
