A one car accident in front of the driveway at the Vineyard brought out all the EMTs and Police up Island. The woman evidently climbed thru her window as there was blood all over the side of the car, staggered to our front door (--with help from a passerby). Another passerby who was once an EMT stopped in and helped us with the care of the woman, who was still bleeding profusely and wanted to go to sleep, until the ambulance arrived. The kitchen became a triage center.
The accident wasn't 200 feet from the house and we knew nothing until the girl came into the house.
Islanders are quick to respond-both professionally and personally-and they were great tonight.
The accident is under investigation, and the wonman was taken to the hospital for treatment. Condition unknown.
