A one car accident in front of the driveway at the Vineyard brought out all the EMTs and Police up Island. The woman evidently climbed thru her window as there was blood all over the side of the car, staggered to our front door (--with help from a passerby). Another passerby who was once an EMT stopped in and helped us with the care of the woman, who was still bleeding profusely and wanted to go to sleep, until the ambulance arrived. The kitchen became a triage center.
The accident wasn't 200 feet from the house and we knew nothing until the girl came into the house.
Islanders are quick to respond-both professionally and personally-and they were great tonight.
The accident is under investigation, and the wonman was taken to the hospital for treatment. Condition unknown.

I am sorry that you had an opportunity to take this teriffic shot.
It is extremely well composed and wonderfully lit.
Just too bad it wasn't a cat in a tree, or something, that brought these guys out.
I hope the woman is okay.

Super photojournalistic photo and story. Wonderful of you to help. Hope you wore gloves. That's the first thing I do when I stop for an accident. Put on those gloves. Let us know when you know how she's doing.

Great piece of photjournalism. It must have been a shock when the blood-coevered woman appeared at the door. Definitely deserves a vote for topicality and good neighbourliness!

Very nice journalistic shot. Lots of clues in that upside vehicle as to the likes and dislikes of the owner.
