Dancing in the Shadows 2

Heeding Phil's advice on my prior attempt of this shot (see following image), I decided to reshoot this abstraction of a shadow letting the Leica's 16:9 format dictate the orientation of the image. It did force me to rethink the way I approached the shot, ie; not thinking about being able to crop it later but to frame it well in camera. That will hopefully help me with the kind of shots I ultimately want to be able to make with this little camera. (Already loving the lens, by the way)

Beautiful shadows and colors. I love the contrast and the 16:9 format.

If your skin was sand
Being traced
By a rivulet of love
Swirling, teasing
With lively melody.

The re-do accomplishes exactly what I had envisioned, Jenene, when I commented on your narrower version. As Ray points out, the edges are also much cleaner, and your long, wide frame suggests that this pattern of shadow and color goes on and on, without end.

Yes, less is more, in this abstraction.. I really like the angle too!

Yep, this negates the distracting untidiness around the edges.
Nice work Jenene!
