A provocative concession to the general austerity of the exteriors of the palace, the ventilation shafts and smoke vents on the roof terrace are transformed into sculptures with multiple shapes and colors.There are 20 chimneys in the roof terrace, fifteen correspond to hearths and kitchens, the rest to the ventilation shafts. 120 models were used by Gaudí on the trencadis´ceramic work of the chimneys. Most of the tiles came from the Catalan factory Pujol i Bausís
