Cuzcurrita de Rio Tirón. Ermita de Nuestra Señora de Sorejana

view map

The temple was further refurbished: in the 16th century a roofed sacristy was added and a century later the chancel and high pulpit were built, located in area where the gothic and Romanesque parts meet in the church.
The Romanesque part and the Gothic part differ on the outside by buttresses.
In terms of religious images, the main altarpiece if Baroque from the early 18th century, and there is also a classicist altarpiece from the early 17th century and a Romanesque style baptismal font from the 12th century.

The church seems to rise out of the ground as if growing there. A wonderful shot. V
