My trip to Iran was an unforgetable adventure. Together with 13 other women I first attempted to climb Mt. Damavan north of Tehran in Alborz mountains. Then we had a small bus tour to Yazd, Esfahan, Shiraz and Tehran.
Whenever I mentioned before this trip that I am going to Iran, most people would look at me strangely and with kind of disbelief. They would say it's dangerous and I should not go.
What a surprise! I found an amazing country, rich culture, lovely and friendly people. Though they still oblige the foreigner women to cover the hair it doesn't seem burdensome at all. People need contacts with foreign tourists, several times we were asked in the streets by both young men and women wanting to know where we came from and our opinion about Iran. The families wanted to take photos with us.
Eveywhere, everytime I felt secure.
Now I know most people in western countries have unjust picture of this beautiful, fascinating country and its incredibly warm, friendly people. I am sure I will go visit again some day.
