slow train running

Today was a big day for Weardale Railway
The first train to come into the dale through the newly reconnected link at Bishop Auckland to the main rail network
The train was a charter from London Kings Cross.

I've been off line for a few days because my computer had flu
Thanks to Doctor P for fixing it, I'll catch up with comments soon.
Meanwhile have you seen who visited me over Christmas?

Wonderful shot - and the fact they are re-connecting rail links.
The "Colonies" could learn from this.

So the great white elephant hunters from London will be up every weekend with their blunderbusses :o)

Don't rip it up before I get my ride, okay !!! Even the elephants got into the picture :))

Lovely curving part of the track. And thanks to Colin for allowing me to spot the elephants. I hear there's an elephant hunt happening in that other pbase gallery you mention in the accompanying link!

Got to admit to a bit of anoraking here as I travelled up the line about twenty years ago on a charter when it was still used for freight. Good to see it connected again.

I thought you might have been here today, I wasn't expecting so many carriages. Now you have the photo you need to get out and rip that line up before they all start coming ;-)

Nice shot of the choo-choo curving round the bend.

Connected to the outside world at last, I can see the elephants too.
