Trains are a pain in the a$$. I have remarked about this in previous posts. I know they are necessary for our efficient transportation system. BUT one thing that gets my goat is when they are stopped for long periods of time. This particular one was stopped and blocking both Fairmont Parkway and Bay Area Boulevard. These roads are perpendicular to one another, so the effect was blocking any escape from this predicament that didn't entail a five mile detour. This particular sit lasted over 30 minutes.
Note that the rail car is carrying isobutylene, my favorite olefin. I spent many years in the butyl rubber business, so it is dear to my heart. Now, I wonder what has happened to the price of it since it is no longer used for MTBE.
