Day Fourteen
We had a nice drive from the Redmond area to Astoria, OR. Fortunately, the traffic gods on I-5 were smiling upon us. Our objective today was to head to Fort Clatsop and meet up with our friends. We spent five summers there as volunteers and had a great time. It was fun. A bunch of them agreed to have a nice dinner at Buoy Beer, a favorite Astoria watering hole.
We were passing by Olympia, a capitol we had visited before. That was in August of 2015. The day was pretty miserable. Since it was sunny today we decided to make a stop and get some pictures. Unfortunately, the front of the building is on the north side, but the south side looks nice so we did some photos of us in front of the south side.
Today's photo was taken after dinner from the restaurant. The Megler Bridge across the Columbia River in Astoria is iconic. Lots of people (including me) have photographed it. This evening there was a nice view with the sunset in the background.
