Project Day 86 - Exile Day 36 - Big happenings today. The slate tile was completed in the kitchen which fulfilled Ginny's dream of having the entire first floor in slate. There is more work to be done because it has to be grouted and sealed. Additionally they installed the back splashes in the kitchen and bar. Now things are definitely starting to get nearer to inhabitable. The painters spent the day doing walls. There is still more paint work to be done, so it looks like several more days for those guys. The kitchen and master bathroom also need painting. We are told that the plumbers and electricians will be coming on Monday. There are a few minor punchlist items from the inspection, but the main thing is getting all the new stuff properly installed and connected. There are lots of switches and outlets to be installed as well as the under cabinet lighting and power strips in the kitchen. Something new will be GFCI outlets which were not required by code when the house was built, but are required now in certain locations. I like the added protection they offer. The appliances will be delivered tomorrow. The garage will look like a warehouse for a few days.

I finished up scanning all the photos I wanted from mom's collection that was borrowed from my sister. That was an important objective because we want to return them when we swing up north later this year. That will be a lot of boxes leaving the house. Clutter reduction. That is a good thing. My next objective will be to figure out how to download all the stuff I have on pbase. The What I Did Today gallery is important to me especially. If I figure it out, I will let you know. If you already know how to do it, let me know!

Maybe the PBase Help staff can tell you if it's possible.
