It is not unusual to see a Coast Guard helicopter landing at out little airport. I was fooling around in the hangar and heard one coming in so I walked outside to watch. After the helicopter landed one of the crew got out and started crawling around under the thing like he was inspecting for something. They spent a few minutes doing this then they were off. They came back around and made another landing, but this time they didn't get out. The excitement never ends.
True, John. The Coast Guard Air Station is only five miles away at Ellington Field. Unless they had to get down in a hurry, that would have been the place to go. On the other hand, they might have been just checking something they missed on their preflight inspection.
I can understand them landing quick to check something. Bad enough in a vehicle to think there is something wrong. But way up in the wild blue yonder,,,just a little more worrying.
