I spent the better part of the day out at the airport working on the Swift annual. I have a tricky landing gear box repair that I have to do, and I decided to get a little practice in mounting nutplates. When I do the actual repair, I have to take the gear off again, and I want to be ready to install the nut plates right away so that I don't leave the airplane on jacks. Every time I jack up the airplane, I get the willies. If it falls off the jack, it will punch a hole in the wing which would be a bad thing. Anyway, I managed to get a nutplate properly secured and I learned a lot in the process. When I had the landing gear off the other day, I didn't get a good look at some things I wanted to see. So I am getting ready to deal with the eventualities.

Listorama was long ago deleted with prejudice from the Nut Case Roster.

You know, Dave, now that I think about it you're right. (note to self, see if agent listorama is still on the nut case roster at the nut house.)

I thought a nut plate was a serving of almonds, cashews, and peanuts. What gives?

Don't forget you can use your smallest camera in where you can't see and study the photos close up, I do this all the time and it's a great help. Just need to put some LED flashlights to work to light those tight spaces. Good to have on file too...
