The real highlite of the day was taking a logging tour sponsored by the Forks Chamber of Congress and conducted by Ginny's grade school and high school classmate Randy Mesenbrink. Randy is a retired ranger with the Washington Department of Natural Resources. He has lived in Forks for 40 years. the tour was great because we went to a saw mill and saw how lumber and wood chips are made. Very interesting. I thought watching the giant band saw taking down whole logs was very interesting. Later we went out to an area and watched the logging operation. That was neat because I love to see big machines in action. Randy was a wealth of knowledge about both the technical aspects and the commercial aspects of logging. If you are ever in Forks on a Wednesday, take advantage of this free tour.

After talking to Ginny today I finally decided to take a look at the photos. One thing jumped out at me..... Why is Gin always wearing red and John is always wearing blue?
