Cutoff Baby

The challenge: "Breaking the (Compositional) Rules"

My Mom (Deborah Lewis), FairEnigma and I all got a big laugh out of this challenge.
We break those rules all the time, so not much of a challenge!
I think it qualifies as breaking the comp rules!

I like how you managed to get a Young Head & an 0lder butt in the same Pic ~ that's Unique :0)

Now if you'd left the top of the head in it would have been beaking rules!!! The kind of shot my nephew takes!!

Yep! The bright color in the corner is distracting, say wait, you cut off the baby's face!!!! You made this challenge look so darn easy!~ v

Yep. I guess a 'rule' was broken here. Cute baby.

I've taken a few like this in my time. Good one for the challenge. :-)

Don't know where to look first - at the 'half baby' or those blue plaid pants!

Yes, this challenge is difficult. What rules can you break, if you don´t care about rules. Cute shot.

The bright soft toy in the corner is the icing on the cake. Great distraction!

well seen, but there should be a telegraph pole stickout out of the head too!! :)
Nicki Thurgar12-Oct-2006 14:51
Very cute, love those eyelashes! (and well broken rules, too!)

King Solomon once suggested cutting a baby in half. And he was considered the wisest man ever. You are in good company here Jen.

I had no idea that you could even spell the word "RULES" :^)
Guest 12-Oct-2006 11:09
Good title for Halloween too :-)
Nice bad shot!

Good shot and quite "breaking" :)
Guest 12-Oct-2006 10:42
Oh I like Dan's comment - and yes - you did break the rule!
laine8212-Oct-2006 10:18
You did a great job of "chopping " the baby in half...does that make you a bad photographer or a cruel person :>)
Faye White12-Oct-2006 10:18
awwww - still cute!
Yvonne12-Oct-2006 08:54
Children are very easily chopped - I do it all the time too...
Sheila12-Oct-2006 08:49
Very easy to do with moving targets like children, you could kick yourself sometimes :-)

NOTE: Don't be afraid of breaking rules...
As Edward Weston (a very famous photographer) said,
"Consulting the rules of composition before taking a photograph
is like consulting the laws of gravity before going for a walk."
Guest 12-Oct-2006 05:35
Don't crop the baby, Jen!!
Barbara Heide12-Oct-2006 05:26
agree with Dan! cute shot, nice smile...
Dan Chusid12-Oct-2006 04:12
Perfectly bad.
A clear example of perfect imperfection!
