_MG_0313 American Goldfinch

Apparently collecting nesting material from the yarn I used to support this sunflower plant.

An excellent sharp close-up of this pretty and smart Goldfinch. The nest will be very comfortable! V!

Nice catch Isabel! When I groom the rabbit I leave the fur outside for the birds but if they collect it I never saw it. I even put yarn scarps in a suet container but again never saw any birds using it.

A very beautiful shot. I recently saw a man spreading small feathers from an old pillow he had... There were small feathers everywhere! I thought, wow, whar a mess ... I talked to him and found out that in a day or two, there wouldn't be any feathers left anywhere. Birds come to get them for their nest, especially the Eastern Blue Birds (blue Robbins). I passed by a few days later and he was right, no feathers anywhere ... and he has several nesting Eastern Blue Birds. Go figure!!!
