No balloons went skyward at Simpsonville's Freedom Weekend Aloft, due to high winds, but I had fun watching the children as we waited in vain for the air show.

This has happened to us for at least the last 3 years,(not flying because of high winds) so I have stopped going to Hot air balloon events, except the one here in Tupelo, which is about .5 of a mile from our home. It was realoly bad in 2010 & we drove about 140 miles, paid $90.00 for a motel room, add in gas & food & they cancelled the flights because of a storm 60 miles away. 2 hours later, it had NOT rained a drop & NO storm came thru.
