Imagine that I didn't have to shoot this through a double paned tinted window. Probably could have gotten away with ISO 800! Actually, the noise wasn't too bad - and was taken care of with Adobe Camera Raw 7 in Photoshop's CS6 beta.
I believe feather colors are especially beautiful on a dull day because there is no reflection of the sun on the feathers, and the true color can come through. I did not as all enhance on the color on this image - that brilliant red is the way it looked in the raw image.
