DSCF6809 Butterfly on Queen Anne's Lace

It took me a while to identify the lovely lacy plant growing ever taller, but not budding, on my front slope. When a flower appeared I knew for sure that it was Queen Anne's lace. Internet research told me that it was a good insect attractant so I decided to let it stay (but not go to seed).

When we returned from an 8 day visit north I found this butterfly sitting on one of the leaves and remaining there, so I went inside and grabbed a camera. This morning (the next day) when I checked, a friend had joined it. (See next image)

I'm awaiting identification.
