_MG_1076 Male Pileated Woodpecker

Trying out the pre-drilled cedar log I bought at Wild Birds Unlimited yesterday. It's filled with a homemade no-melt suet mixture made with lard, quick cook oatmeal, cornmeal, flour, sugar, and chunky peanut butter. I was a few feet from the sliding door because with my 300mm lens I couldn't get the whole bird in if I stood any closer - and he would probably have taken off. It was also rainy and foggy. Hard to get reasonable contrast under such conditions.
