A Saucy Ship

Rockport Harbor, ME

According to Webster: saucy adj ...3 : SMART, TRIM (a ~ ship)

This image was taken in response to Thursday's Totally Informal Transglobal Challenge. The theme for May 22, 2008 is "something saucy."

TIDAL WAVE is a 1930 40-foot ketch designed by Phillip Rhodes. Rockport Marine just put in a new backbone, added new frames and completely replaced the deck frames and deck. God, I love to have boat-building places nearby! Some amazing -- and saucy -- wooden ships are built or restored here!

For other's images that Webster might describe as 1) BOLD, IMPUDENT, 2) IRREPRESSIBLE, PERT, or 3) SMART, TRIM

Lovely! Only a Mainer would think a boat is "saucy" though, I think...

It might be a saucy idea for you to apprentice with a ship builder for a little while at some point.

Excellent! Do love how each of us interprets the word "saucy" differently...
