Avebury Stones

Wiltshire, England

First weekend in the new home and a gorgeous frosty morning to go out with the camera.

Avebury Stone Circle is a World Heritage Site and superior in my view to Stonehenge.
Why? because it is on a much much larger scale, is easier to visit, and it has a pub in the middle!

Watch out for many more Avebury pictures now we live only a few miles away.

I visited Avebury (and stayed in a B&B in the village) during the summer solstice of 1995. I'd agree that it is superior to Stonehenge, and much more accessible and powerful because of the scale. These scenes perfectly capture its moody quality I remember. Great job! V.

Absolutely gorgeous shot, so strong and the light is perfect, makes these stones look ever taller! I love this place its so special there's something about Avebury!
