September 14 2006:
Billy J.

Billy J. Kramer was part of the ‘Merseybeat’ boom on the early sixties, riding on the Beatles’ success. Other Liverpool bands to hit the charts around this time were Gerry and The Pacemakers, The Merseybeats, The Swinging Blue Jeans, The Fourmost and of course The Searchers.

The 45 shown here was one of a number my mum would pick up cheap in street markets or ‘cheapjack’ shops. Being old Juke Box discs, we would need to buy an adaptor to fit in the middle as well.

Beyond my era but I truly appreciate the memories you'd brought to the others. Love the colors too :-) Keep playing!

I thought the price looked low. I remember paying 5/6 for my first purchase - 'She Loves You' by the Beatles. I saw Gerry and The Pacemakers live in a pantomime in Stoke On Trent too.

Thanks for thr memories, Ray

The cover of this record is certainly square in shape - but I suppose it was quite hip to own it in back in the 1960ies. Great colours!

I guess it will look antique to my kids, but for me, that recalls me my young days. Very well presented.

Good shot! Very square.
I don't remember that particular song though. I remember him singing Little children, I think.

I still have the adaptor and a lot of 45s. Brenda Lee, Cilla Black, Gerry & Pacemakers and Searchers for me please, can´t get enough. Love your presentation and the blue background. gmv

Beautiful colors and subject. (It called to mind that at one time I had all the Elvis Extended Play - EP - records, only to give or throw them away. Arrrrgh).
