At long last a camera that truly fits comfortably into a shirt-pocket. Measuring only 83x52x20mm, it will easily fits inside an empty Altoids tin. Plus, it takes excellent (2304x1728 pixels) photographs. The digital equivalent of the venerable Rollei 35 but smaller and lighter.
When switched off its 5.8-17.4mm lens retracts flush with camera. This is accomplished by sliding some of the lens elements upward as it retracts. Pentax announced the tiny, three-megapixel Opito S camera in January 2003. By the autumn of 2003, the S was replaced by the four-megapixel S4. Weighing only 113 grams with battery and SD memory, the camera has features not offered on many larger cameras. So rapid is the development of digital cameras, the S4 was soon replaced by the upgraded S4i and, more recently, the five-megapixel S5i.
As you will have noticed, all the other cameras in this gallery were photographed with the Optio S4.
