Asahi Pentax / Tower 26 & Pentax K10D

An original Asahi Pentax, sold in the United States by Sears, Roebuck as the Tower 26, beside the digital Pentax K10D. Since the first Pentax single lens reflex camera was introduced in 1957, there have been numerous models and a great many changes. The K10D was introduced to the world in the autumn of 2006. Although different in how they record an image, the K10D has a few mechanical features similar to those introduced with the original camera. It is one of the last models introduced by Pentax before their purchased by Hoya Corporation in 2007. On 1 July 2011 it was announced long-time rival Ricoh will assume ownership of the Pentax camera division on 1 October. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the trademark.

Using an adapter the lens from the original Asahi Pentax can be mounted on the K10D. Few lenses made 50 years ago can be still mounted on a currently produced camera.
