Got a call from a birdwatcher friend this evening about a Barred Owl nearby.
We drove over and met her and were able to locate the bird—our first ever!

These are such dark eyed beauties with their haunting call "who cooks for you". We've had them in our yard several times in the last 3 or 4 years, but none lately.
