I wonder why covered bridges were built in the first place?
It's good that it's being preserved but a shame that it serves no purpose. Perfect in B&W.

You don't see these old covered bridges much anymore. They fascinate me, and your shot in mono couldn't be more perfect. V

I like those covered bridges you have over there. As regards Listed Structures, progress often means the context is lost. C'est la vie!
Janice Dunn15-Jun-2014 20:33
Good to know it's still used.
fotabug15-Jun-2014 20:25
Glad they preserved it!

Great image in mono of this historic bridge, shame it does not serve a real purpose anymore. v

I have taken photos of many Pennsylvania covered bridges and have the paper pictures somewhere in a box. In the 30 years since I took those photos, about 4 of the bridges have been lost - either to nature or torn down. At lease this one has been preserved.

Altough it spans nothing, the bridge is still there! Nice composition!

At least it was preserved even if it spans nothing. And it looks like they maintain it well. Nice B&W of it, Stephanie. Vote.

It looks pristine for it's age. Great shot, Stephanie.

If you could see to move it one more time there is a plain little bridge
here, in my rural area, that needs some character. I think it would just fit.
Wonderful shot Stephanie.

A beautiful Covered bridge, like those in Quebec.
Jeff Real15-Jun-2014 13:40
This looks incredible in b/w. It is like a journey back in time ~V~

A nice sharp B&W image. Thanks for the historical background. Stephanie. Your composition certainly makes it appear to still span a stream. I guess making it onto the Register does not protect it against being moved.. ;)
Zeeby15-Jun-2014 12:55
Beautifully captured bridge, very well done! V

A super image in B&W Stephanie. Good explanation and history as well. Like Ann, your last comment made me chuckle; however, it seems to be well placed over a reed-growing depression. The path up to it appears to be a walking and/or a biking trail.
Jim Coffman15-Jun-2014 12:35
Nice capture of this beautiful bridge,Stephanie..
Helen Betts15-Jun-2014 12:05
I like your POV for this historic bridge, although find it amusing that it now spans nothing. Excellent work in B&W. V.
Ann Pettigrew15-Jun-2014 11:41
I love your last sentence, Stephanie. Actually made me laugh out loud. That is America for you! You did a great job making it look like it spans Something!
