The lowdown on Fudge

This weekend's challenge is to take a pic with the camera not more than a foot (30cms) off the ground.
As I was feeling lazy and the weather wasn't great, I just took Fudge into the garden. At first we did
a 'formal' portrait, which involved Fudge practicing his 'lie-down' and 'stay' and me getting my knees
wet. We went out later when the sky had brightened and I decided to use the 'live view' to stop myself
from getting damp knees. It took a while to get used to it as I hadn't used it before but I quite
like this shot of Fudge investigating a windfall upon the fallen leaves under the old apple tree.

I often photographed Zeusy at this POV. It really makes a difference in the mood of the image. You did well here, and Fudge is a cutie.

How interesting the world must be to Fudge with all those new smells. A terrific shot of that furry face from down on its own level.

Live view is also useful to let you block a puppy when he gets that "Oh, I must stick my nose into that lens and sniff it" impulse. In addition to the different perspective, this is very well lit; it shows both his fur and the grass with good richness of detail and saturation. Just the right depth as well, centred in just the right place.

He's gotten so big! Live view has helped me stay clean a few times too. Your foot makes an excellent "monopod" (pun intended).

I've no idea what live view is but this is certainly a lovely capture. V

Low level shots of animals and kids always work - Fudge is looking a bit less of a puppy now, great capture! V
