This mushroom was poking up through the mosses, and was one of a group of about 12, all of which had been nibbled on. Slugs, snails, certain fungus beetles, and squirrels all like munching on mushrooms and other fungi. This is probably a Boletus.

This mushroom looks like a fresh loaf of bread as for shape and colour, is it edible? Besides for squirrels and snails, I mean ;^)
