Melody's parents were Byron "Ike" and Dulcie "Dol" Van Valkenburg and they lived behind the Mills family on W. 9th Lane. One older brother Byron Keith "Bugs" died when he was almost 5 and was hit on his bike by a car on October 28, 1961. Another older brother was Leon (photo http://www.pbase.com/update_image/119729193 ). Melody also had another sister Theresa Robin and another brother Jeffrey Scott.

Melody's dad Ike was a pipefitter and refrigeration and air-conditioning mechanic and he repaired my central A/C a few times in the early 80's while working for Fookes Air-Conditioning which merged into Larrabee Air-Conditioning later on.
