This stunning, stark and bleak winter scene is from Lochindorb on Dava moor. At anytime of year it screams desolate but on a windswept bitterly cold pristine winter day it reaches new heights. The old fort in the middle of the loch is not the most attractive of buildings but the honey coloured stone walls do pick up the last glancing rays of winter sunlight very nicely such that they stand out warmly amongst the chill of ice and snow.
