Lichen it

Fordyce, Aberdeenshire, UK

A flat gravestone in St Talarican's kirkyard.

A handheld, one-second exposure (and with a new camera...).
But worth it, for one of the most intriguing images, I think, I've ever taken.

"Anything that excites me, for any reason, I will photograph:
not searching for unusual subject matter but making the commonplace unusual."

Edward Weston

Cool. The writing is moss. Lichen are the reddish and white patches. Good shot.

Fascinating photo! Never seen anything quite like that. The long
departed's faded story coming to life once more. Voted.

Great capture, and for a one-second handheld surprisingly sharp.

This is a super image because it is unusual and it also tells a remarkable story about man and nature. In aperfect world I'd like to see this one revisited on a soggy wet day with puddles among the lush greenery.Like a rice paddy alphabet.V!
