Galapagos Islands received their name from the Spanish name for saddles, as some of the Giant Tortoises are the shape of saddles. These tortoises weight can exceed 500 lbs. and live over a hundred years. I saw the most famous, Lonesome George, which is ~90 years old, and by the way isn't so lonesome anymore. He now has a girlfriend, Georgetta, and they are expecting. There are 3 types of lizards on these islands and all 3 are depicted in my photos. Then, there are the sea lions, so playful to swim with and are plentiful. And, of course, the colorful Sally Lightfoot crabs.
