Library of Congress, fortified

I didn’t realize Tim was photographing me along with the Library of Congress. I might have been working on getting a shot of the Supreme Court and razor wire at the time.

*****

We went down to the Capitol to see how things looked after the inauguration. A lot of the National Guard troops were gone, although some are staying for the impeachment trial, and the Capitol Police weren‘t so much in evidence on the street. Some of the roadblocks were gone, but the fences have stayed, perhaps even more fortified than before.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly
unsharp.

Constitution Avenue and 2nd Street NE, posted earlier:

A very different look from what I have seen in my many past visits to Washington. The sign on the light pole really adds to the power of this mage. You really have a power gallery of images Helen. VV

Nice to see you hard at work :0) I'm glad things went smoothly at the inauguration and that thing are getting back to normal.
The impeachment trial may bring further tensions I guess. V

No jostling crowds !!! (or sign enforcers :) - amazing how quickly they got all those barricades up !!

your boldness is to be commended...there's no point in being bothered by minor concerns if you want to get the shot..

Neat shot Helen. Good to know they didn't put you in cuffs as it seems you were illegally parked/standing and after all the happenings, were engaging in perhaps a frowned on activity.

Standing right below the sign you are disobeying! Ha! You are quite the scofflaw. ;)
