Tornado-damaged houses today

On November 17, 1927 an F2 tornado with winds at 125 mph moved through Capitol Hill, damaging the rowhouses on the 1300 block of A Street, NE. The houses were repaired and remain occupied.

This is how the houses look now; below/previous picture of the tornado damage was taken from the restoration society’s website, original source Library of Congress (LOT 12354-2).

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Beautiful and elegant houses. Very hard to imagine that after that damage they could have been so beautifully restored. V
