Wild turkeys on Long Island?

Someone said they had never seen a wild turkey on Long Island in all the years they lived there, so here’s proof that they do exist. I don’t know what happened to the head of the middle one, but I’m sure he had one.

Best to view in "Original" because other versions resized by Pbase are decidedly unsharp.

Off the coast of Maine, posted earlier:

Charlie used to see them all the time when he worked in Oyster Bay. The guy in the middle is getting ready for Halloween. V

Great timing to capture three of them as proof of their existence

To get to the other side? Nice shot of these jay-walkers Helen.

Terrific shot. Question is, "Why did the turkeys cross the road?" :-)

Never saw a turkey on Long Island. This is a first. I see the head. It's faintly red and lined up with the middle of the road stripe. Isn't it frustrating that we can't zoom in all we'd like to with our phones?

Had to laugh at your comment re: the head of the middle turkey! Cool shot.

They look just like giant quail - when they run they stretch their necks making their heads look small.
