There were thousands upon thousands of people marching through my neighborhood on Capitol Hill this morning, headed for the Women’s March on Washington. I saw them from our steps and couldn’t believe my eyes, so grabbed a jacket and my iPhone and ran down to Lincoln Park, which they were passing though from buses parked at RFK Stadium on their way to the Mall area. A neighbor and I were asking where they were from, and we were told Baltimore, North Carolina, New Jersey, Texas, San Francisco, Kenya and Canada, among many other places. The sheer magnitude of the scene was breathtaking, and heartening...
I thought it was fascinating that one of the main posters for this march (held by two women), created by a street artist named Shepard Fairey, bears an uncanny resemblance to an image I posted by a Yemeni/French female photographer, below… I don’t anybody but me has noticed, certainly nobody in the media.
