The aquarium at The Dubai Mall. There were a lot of fish, including numerous sharks, rays and others I couldn’t identify, but rather than post a picture of them, I wanted to show the sheer size of this place.

We spent the afternoon at The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall by total area (13 million square feet) with 1,200 retail outlets. It also has an Olympic-size ice rink, an aquarium and underwater zoo, a four story waterfall and an enormous fountain outside the building.

In 2012, Dubai Mall continued to hold title of world's most-visited shopping and leisure destination, and attracted more than 65 million visitors. It attracted more visitors than New York City with over 52 million tourists in 2012, and Los Angeles with 41 million.
