This is Dubai Dino, a dinosaur skeleton that was discovered in 2008 in Wyoming and air-freighted to Dubai, just for this mall. Almost all the bones were found intact at the excavation site. The skeleton is 80 feet (24.4 meters) long and 25 feet (7.6 meters) high, and weighs 1.5 tons. No comparable exhibit, with nearly all bones completing the skeleton, exists anywhere in the world.
We spent the afternoon at The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall by total area (13 million square feet) with 1,200 retail outlets. It also has an Olympic-size ice rink, an aquarium and underwater zoo, a four story waterfall and an enormous fountain outside the building.
In 2012, Dubai Mall continued to hold title of world's most-visited shopping and leisure destination, and attracted more than 65 million visitors. It attracted more visitors than New York City with over 52 million tourists in 2012, and Los Angeles with 41 million.
