Al Mirani Fort

Al Mirani Fort, located in the old city where the sultan’s palace is situated, was built by the Portuguese, who conquered Muscat in 1507 and erected the city walls at that time. The Omanis retook the city in 1650, thus ending the Portuguese era in the Gulf.

We got back home at 4 a.m., minus our luggage, which seems to have been lost. Funny, but Riyadh feels downright cool compared to the hot and humid weather of Oman.
