This is my one duplication from our first visit to this palace; I positioned myself a bit differently and like it much better than my first attempt. The entire palace is built around this central room, 15 meters high and topped by a cupola modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul (although personally I think it more resembles the dome of a Turkish hamam, or bath). It was used for public, social and religious events and even includes a chapel.
This time it really is the end of my Palau Güell gallery (!) as I doubt we'll be returning to Barcelona for a while. I'm so happy we went back for another look to see things we had missed the first time around in this fantastic building. And thanks so much for all the kind comments on these images!
