A deserted Kraków Cathedral, Wawel Hill

We returned to Wawel Hill to tour the royal castle as we had missed the interior on our last visit to Kraków, but unfortunately it was closed that day and the next. This place had been literally packed with tourists last May, to the point that it was impossible to get a photograph from this POV. But there was hardly a soul in sight in February. The cathedral still had all its signs up about no photography inside, so we didn't bother going through it again. Such a pity that rule is.

A more complete view from last year:

Nikon D800 ,Nikkor AF-S 24-70mm f/2.8G ED
1/160s f/8.0 at 42.0mm iso2000 full exif

I don't think I have ever seen such a variety of different shapes and designs of steeples in one place like this. They are all very attractive and the photograph is beautiful. This one is memorable. ~BV~

I love all the different architectural styles. Presume they were added over a period of time. V

this is very nicely composed with the height gradually progressing to the spire. I am interested in the 2 'versions' of the domey things each side of the entrance and wonder if they are cutting down on the glitz or haven't finished yet

So many towers, domes and various architectural styles in one. This city is like a coffer full of treasure. Excellent POV to see all these gems together. V

I like both angles. Both reveal a variety of shapes. By the way your pushing Kraków up on my bucket list. V

Fascinating, it looks like it has been added to over the years by people with different architectural tastes.

This is quite a grand photo of the outside. I also like the little branches that frame the image. The two people walking past the arch are placed just right. V
